"I feel the need for speed!" That maxim could be applied to baud rates, media throughput or simply the speedometer of Lisa's Ducati motorcycle. "For those of us addicted to innovation and speed, pushing the technology envelope is the thing to do," says Digital VooDoo's Producer, Lisa Dee. "Ultimately, however, multimedia and the Web will wean itself from this technology-driven phase and move toward a communications climate that is content and story-driven." |

Lisa most recently was a Producer for Inscape, responsible for the creative oversight of the story and game design on the CD-ROM, The Egyptian Jukebox. She was also Line Producer on the international CD-ROM, 500 Nations, hosted by Kevin Costner. Distributed by Microsoft. She serves as the Producer-Writer for Digital VooDoo's clients, including: USCare, Metatools, Western Digital, Hilton Hotels, Merisel and Davidson Software. Her foray into multimedia began when she wrote and produced a half-hour infomercial introducing multimedia computers with actor-host, Mark Hamill. So how did a pencil-and-paper storyteller become a techno-weeny? Lisa says it can be explained by "either the force of evolution or chaos theory." She began her career in earnest with The Merv Griffin Show, interviewing thousands of celebrities, authors, artists and statesmen. Then through the curious process known as natural selection became the Director of Development for Second City Entertainment (an alliance between Imagine Films and The Second City). She produced three television pilots; one resulted in a syndicated series for MCA. That Hollywood venture spiraled Lisa into the magical kingdom of Walt Disney Imagineering as a Creative Development Executive. Working with teams of designers, engineers and artists, Lisa developed and produced theme park attractions for EPCOT in Orlando and EuroDisney in Paris. For Lisa, the story is the connecting point of all her media experiences. "Telling stories is the root of human communication. Through story we connect and communicate. My goal is to understand the story and then take a fresh look at what new technology brings to the process." |
